A war is actually taking place throughout the Middle East, without the Western media daring to speak openly about it. Clarissa.it is working on it as it believes that this low-intensity conflict, which sees a growing commitment of Israeli forces to an ever wider range, constitutes a serious risk for world peace.
The US delegates to Israel the use of force against Iran
From news in the Iraqi press, also taken from Israeli organs, we learn that Iraq has become in recent weeks the new theater of military operations that the Israelis have been carrying out for months in the Middle East against military structures considered close to Iran, which so far they had been affected in Syria and Lebanon.
The first attack on Iraqi territory, conducted by an Israeli F-35 fighter-bomber, took place last July 19 against the Amerli base in the governorate of Salah al-Din, a province just north of the Iraqi capital.
According to the spokesman of the Popular Mobilization Forces (shiite units considered close to Hezbollah), at least three other attacks would have occurred since then, in violation of Iraqi sovereignty.
What appears to be the second new fact, perhaps even more significant, is that the United States would have allowed Israel to also use drones from US bases in Azerbaijan and Syria, theoretically intended for the fight against ISIS and against so-called jihadist terrorism: it therefore appears that the US is in some way delegating to the Israeli forces the task of conducting direct targeted attacks against Shiite forces throughout the region.
Last week, another incident in this sequence of Israeli military operations caused a series of explosions and fires in another Iraqi base, this time south of Baghdad.
Last Tuesday new explosions would eventually occur that would have damaged other Iraqi military installations deemed to be under Shiite control.
The limited sovereignty of Iraq
Following these recent episodes, some Iraqi parliamentarians have accused the Iraqi parliament of not wanting to face publicly the issue of the violation of Iraqi sovereignty, due to subjection to the US and Israel: they have demanded a greater commitment of their, indeed very limited, armed forces in defense of the country.
Obviously, the well-known division of Iraq into a predominantly Shiite and Sunni area makes it very dangerous to raise this crucial issue: after the fall the Baathist regime, religious question places Iraq in the Middle East fault line between Shiites and Sunnis (in particular of Wahabbite obedience), that the Atlantic world is in all ways feeding.
It seems that the widening of the Israeli range of action, which is getting closer and closer to the Iranian territory, is due to the fact that Iran, precisely following the repeated attacks conducted by Israel against targets in Syria and Lebanon (over two hundred in 2018 alone have been confirmed by Israeli spokesmen), would have progressively shifted its forces in support of Syria ever closer to the border with Iraq: in particular having been forced to redeploy the forces previously hosted in the Syrian air base called T4 (Tiyas Military Airbase), located between Homs and Palmyra, badly hit by the Israelis on 10 February and 9 April 2018.
The Israeli process of destabilizing the Middle East continues with iron logic: it is now clear that it is accepted as a strategic option by the United States as well, in the obvious acquiescence of Europe.
